1. Happening by a fortunate accident or chance.
2. Lucky or fortunate.
3. happening or produced by chance; accidental: a fortuitous encounter.

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by! I know it's cliche to say...but, I sincerely appreciate your visit. I am Fortuitous Photography and though I must give some credit to good fortune...my work is anything BUT happenstance. I am Fortuitous because I am lucky to be doing what I love and fortunate to be able to share in so many occasions and moments with the most wonderful people and on some of the happiest days of their lives.

I am also reasonable enough to admit that being in the "right place, at the right time" only compliments technical skill and personable aptitude. To see more about me, please watch this video. It was a project for a school assignment. But, it turned out pretty good...so, I wanted to share it!

I am a seeker of moments and a hunter of rarity....and the patience and stealth of a photographic ninja! hahahahaha. Ok, maybe that's going a bit far. However, I do pride myself on being invisible on your special day and only interact when absolutely necessary because your day and your moments are, well, about YOU!

After all, that is the "Primary Directive"...ok, that's the GEEK in me coming front and center. The, seemingly obscure reference, comes from Star Trek. For those of you fellow geeks, no explanation necessary. But, for everyone else, it basically means "not to interfere or risk natural development of your subjects". This is also true with true Photojournalism.

Many photographers claim they shoot "photojournalistically"...and, am by no means judging their artistic viewpoints. But, true photojournalists anticipate moments for images and photograph those moments in context with the place and/or environment in which they occurred. They never interfere with the moment....if they do, that qualifies as "staged" or "Editorial". So, I just want folks to know when a "spade is a spade". I have been and currently am studying photojournalism...so, I understand the idiosyncrasies of photographing moments that are happening in the purest sense.

But, sometimes interference is necessary in portraiture. Like, when the toddlers won't sit still and I get their attention by singing randomly or making silly faces etc. Sometimes, it's absolutely necessary if you want to get all eyes looking at the camera...or, at least, not wandering out of the image without reason or context.

So, I mean it when I say I will work diligently to document all the fleeting and precious moments and personality that you will want to be recorded in the book of your life. Hence why I am "Fortuitous Photography".

So, that's what I will do for your. In regards to the kind of person you're getting to document your life, please know that I am quite transparent...what you see is what you get. I am sassy, classy and sometimes a bit brassy, but I'm NEVER insincere! I pride myself on that aspect of my personality and when you hire me...you get, well ME!

Providing imagery to delight the eye and warm the soul!
